After yesterdays unpleasent meeting with the Home Team Accademy, today was a fairly pleasent and relaxed one. Main highlight of the day was the fact that I managed to pay my monthly respects at the Saudi Embassy.
HE Kurdi was in quite a good mood. The Saudi students are here and so far things on that front are moving fairly smoothly. Managed to raise the subject of Haj coverage and it looks like I'm going to have to see if any of my Muslim friends are interested in the act of covering the world's largest annual pilgrimage. HE joked that if I converted to Islam he would send me on the trip. And most interestingly it looks like there's going to be a Royal Visit - one which, Insh Allah, I shall be working on.
Also managed to catch up with Meshari at SAGIA. It was really lovely to be able to catch-up with him. He's been promoted to run the region and was exceedingly busy when I dropped into his office. However, he took the time out to chat and it just felt really uplifting to be able to talk to someone with as much zest for life that he has.
Managed to catch up with the bite-half today. It's been quite a stressful month in terms of trying to wrap things up and I really have not spent much time with her. She looked good today - ok, ok, she always looks good. Talked a bit, mainly about the Baby Girl back in Vietnam. Need to get the funds to bring the little one over for a while and to try and catch a few moments of her life, which as in the case of every kid seems to be rushing by so quickly.
